About Ken Wiseman
I was born and raised in New Jersey. I loved to ski growing up, so I left New Jersey to go to the University of Colorado in Boulder where I completed my BS in Marketing in 1991. After twelve years in Boulder, having stayed there to pursue a career in teaching after college, I took a ski trip to Grand Targhee in March 2000, fell in love with the quality of skiing in the Teton mountains, and decided to move there. I took a position at Grand Targhee working in sales and marketing, and with over 500 inches of snow a year, I definitely skied a great many powder days. However, after three years in management at Grand Targhee, I decided to move on to the next challenge, finding dream homes for folks like me.
In the meantime, I met my wife Shannon and we were married in July 2003. Together we decided it was time sell our home in Driggs, Idaho and move in search of a more balanced place to live, with more career opportunities, and we chose to move to Reno after reading an article in Ski magazine about Reno being a "ski town". Since we had been given two horses as a wedding gift from Shannon's dad, we chose to buy horse property in Reno, and found Rancho Haven on Red Rock Road to be a good match. I was a Realtor with Keller Williams Group One Realty from April 2004 - April 2006 where I gained valuable experience. I decided to pursue my dream of working for myself and opened Reno Rancho Realty in May 2006. Shannon helped open the doors and is now a broker/salesman with the company!
Our spare time consists of horseback riding in the summer and skiing in the winter, along with spending time with our four Labrador Retrievers. We feel this is where we will raise our family, with the small city feel, and the low amount of crime, we can't think of a better place to live. We can honestly say we are living the dream life here.
